Credit Cards Accepted in Costco

Costco shoppers enjoy bulk products at great prices. But once they get to the checkout lane, they have to be conscious of what method of payment they pull out of their wallet or purse. While some methods of payment are universally accepted, Costco customers need to be aware there are only certain credit cards accepted at Costco.

Cash

Despite some people’s desire to move to using only digital currency only, cash is still accepted virtually everywhere.

Debit Cards

Regardless of what network is listed on your debit card, almost all PIN based debit cards are accepted at Costco.

Costco Gift Cards

Costco gift cards are always welcome. In fact, people who are not even Costco members can enter the warehouse stores and make purchases if they have a Costco gift card.

Checks

Checks are used less frequently, but they are still accepted at Costco.

Mobile Payment

Costco also accepts mobile forms of payment such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay.

Credit Cards

For years, Costco had an exclusive agreement with American Express. However, several years ago they switched to Visa. If you’re going to pay with a credit card, it has to be a Visa. They offer the Costco Anywhere Visa by Citibank that gives cashback rewards to users.

Costco offers high quality products at great prices. But you have to be a member, and be aware there are only certain credit cards accepted at Costco. If you’re going to pay with a credit card, it has to be Visa.
