I lost my job today…sort of

December 14, 2007 .
I’m sitting on a conference call with our client (I’m working from home today) and just found out that our contract is ending as of today. They ran out of money. Guess I need to go into the office today to get my stuff.
I’m sure I’ll be fine as my employer loves me and has other contracts to move me to, but I’ve put alot of sweat, a few tears and a little blood into this contract for the last almost 18 months. We were sooo close to implementing something and it just sucks that we came this close without implementing.
I’ll have a followup post when I find out more.

Clever Dude and his bride started with $113,000 in consumer debt and in just 3 short years, it's gone!
Dude, that sounds awful. Best of luck with things.
I’m really sorry to hear about your contract. Doing a great job nowadays isn’t insurance you can keep your job. There are so many variables that often have nothing to do with your performance. It sounds like it will work out, though, BECAUSE of your performance. Best wishes and I hope it leads to good things!!

Much suckage…good luck with getting a new contract.
I know how you feel, I was told last week that my 13 year old job would be ending soon. We’d recently been bought out by another ruthless company and my skills were too luxurious to be needed, although they did say they would call me in for the odd job as a consultant.
Dude, that sucks. But I just read the next post and playing Super Mario sounds fun. Get some destressing done!
