HSBC Direct offers 6.00% on New Money deposits

I’ll go ahead and jump on the bandwagon to get the word out. I just signed up for my new HSBC Direct savings account, which will earn me 6% APY through April 30th. That’s better than their normal 5.05% rate on existing money in the account.
If you already have an HSBC Direct account, then you can move money out then back in through a transfer to get the higher rate.

Clever Dude and his bride started with $500k in debt and in just 4 years, it's down to $300k!
Great minds think alike.
Cool beans! I think I’ll move my emergency fund from ING Direct over to HSBC, hard to beat 6% on a savings account!
Only new money qualifies for the rate, so transferring money out and then back in won’t work. ING Direct did something similar to this last year and it upset a lot of loyal customers who had all their savings there.
