Top 4 shows and movies to watch if you are obsessed with Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence has been a recurring theme on screens since its inception, captivating (and often frightening) audiences with the prospect of sentient robots capable of manipulating humanity’s unique traits such as consciousness and the ability to feel emotions.

For decades, potential technological developments have been presented in countless ways. In addition, science fiction films also raise questions about the moral, ethical and social implications of using technologies such as AI.

In recent years, artificial intelligence has become a hot trend in the technology industry.

According to LinkedIn’s upcoming job postings report last year, AI and Blockchain topped the list. While the practical implications of artificial intelligence often differ from what is usually shown in movies, the latter still has an undeniable appeal. With the budding digital era, you can easily access any movie with a simple Google search. You can enjoy a reliable internet connection by signing up with popular Internet Service Providers (ISP), such as Cox. This ISP has its own cable-providing service by the name of Cox cable, with a different packages starting that go up at to 250+ channels.

With your internet connection set up, let us suggest some movies to keep on your watch list:

  1. Finch

Finch is probably the most American dystopia we’ve ever gotten: Tom Hanks plays a terminally ill man, one of the last human survivors on a devastated Earth who tries to build a sentient robot to take care of his beloved dog after he’s gone.

Humanity has been largely incinerated by an accidental solar flare; almost all other plant and animal life seems to have disappeared, and our hero lives off the scattered bits of canned food he can find when he’s not coughing up blood.

The bot in this movie may have only some of the data, but it clearly has a very powerful machine machine-learning AI. Caleb Landry Jones impressively demonstrates the robot’s carefully calibrated voice and movements as it gradually becomes more ‘human’. His posture straightens, he develops the ability to understand idioms and metaphors, and his speech becomes clearer and more expressive.

He also shows his increased sense of personality by asking for a name, though he also shows a still limited understanding of the first few names he suggests. For any AI-obsessed person, this would be an interesting and stimulating watch.

  1. Westworld

Westworld is a smart, ambitious mystery story (JJ Abrams is one of the producers, after all) that delves into the intersection of technology and entertainment, telling the tale of robots slowly taking over a western theme park; Humans is a more subdued, down-to-earth exploration of the blending of synthetic robots and humans in a world where the former has been reduced to the servant/working class.

The former glosses over its issues with non-linear storytelling and over-reliance on twists and turns; the latter speaks through metaphor more directly about today’s fears of immigration and job loss.

This film sparked talk of artificial intelligence, realistic robotic sex dolls, and computer viruses. It seems simple at first glance, but has deep themes that become more and more relevant as technology advances.

  1. Black Mirror

No series in recent years has been as focused on artificial intelligence as Netflix’s Black Mirror.

This Black Mirror series refers to our collective fear of the modern world and technological advances. Each episode tells a different, vibrant, and gripping story that explores the topic of modern techno techno-paranoia in an alternate reality or near future. Problems reflect our society or the consequences of actions that can become very dangerous for humanity.

The chilling anthology series explores the dark side of technology and how it backfires on us – hence the show’s title, inspired by how a phone’s screen looks like a black mirror when unlocked – in which much of the technology itself is based on real events and respective AI algorithms.

  1. Silicon Valley

It’s about being an entrepreneur. Here in this high-tech world of today’s Silicon Valley, the people who are most capable of success are the ones least able to cope with success.

This is a comedy-inspired story about Mike Judge’s own experiences as an engineer in Silicon Valley in the late 1980s.

This movie focuses on enunciating the difficult life of an entrepreneur.

The hallmark of Silicon Valley is that it knew from the beginning what a great and bountiful target the tech world and all its people would be for comedy, and rarely wasted a minute chasing companies, CEOs, programmers, tech brothers, and all the ridiculously wealthy workforce.

Wrapping it up

Everyone has their own idea of artificial intelligence. Some believe that super AIs will destroy humanity and control the world due to their strong learning and data data-processing abilities. Some believe that man and machine can be compatible if there is a strict and clear specifications. Whatever the future between man and machine, we will not be at the helm. We stand here only to wait and witness the new era, till then, why not enjoy the endless possibilities in the world of film. ?
