Marine Corps Marathon 2007

Just a quick note to say we’ve officially signed up for the 2007 Marine Corp Marathon for this coming October this past week.

You can read more about marathon training and other nutrition and fitness topics at Stacie’s site: Building Nutrition

Turns out we need to start training tomorrow with a 3 mile run, then walk Tuesday, 3 miles on Wednesday, walk Thursday, then 6 miles Saturday and a walk Sunday. Then repeat with increased Saturday mileage each week.

Wonderful…why did I want to do this again?

I hope you’ll win. After all if the late Cliff Young can run a 5000 km marathon (and actually won it), a few miles marathon shouldn’t be a prob for a fit athlete like you.

    Enjoy the race!

    Sorry,

That wasn’t supposed to be 5000km (what was I thinking). It was around 800 km

Thanks Iskandar, but I should have mentioned I’m not the fittest person out there. I’m 5’10” and about 225 (give or take 5 lbs on any given day). We finished in 6 hours last year and I’m looking to finish in 5.5 hours or better this year.

The winners finish in under 2.5 hours!

Hey thanks Dan. I wrote a series for first-time marathoners (especially non-runners like myself). I’ve moved it over to my wife’s site since it fits better there:

Hey, good luck on the training. I’ve decided to run a marathon about the same time as the Marine Corps Marathon and have started a blog tacking my activities and information I find about how to do this thing right.

It’s my first Marathon, and I’m quickly learning there is a lot that goes into it.

Great exercise CD, that’s why! And you get the inner satisfaction of accomplishing the journey 😛
