There are so many advanced technology features in modern cars that keep you safe. Brake assist is one of those features. Over the last several years, it has become a game-changer in preventing accidents. Essentially, a brake assist system helps drivers react faster to potential danger. Sensors around the car detect objects like other cars and even pedestrians. The car then applies additional braking force or stops the car completely. That said, high-performance vehicles and good-looking cars aren’t everything. You might want to consider these amazing vehicles with advanced brake assist features.

1. Tesla Model Y

Tesla is a frontrunner in the automotive world today. It has been able to incorporate so many pieces of technology into its cars and that includes some of the most advanced safety features you’ll find out there. It has Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). The system detects potential collisions and automatically applies the brakes. This helps avoid or minimize impact. It’s especially helpful in stop-and-go traffic where fender benders are common. Unlike other braking systems, Tesla is constantly providing software updates to improve the overall safety of the car. When it comes to the Tesla models to choose from, the Model Y is the standout. It’s a stylish SUV with amazing safety features. Who wouldn’t love it?

2. Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Luxury meets safety in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which features an advanced brake assist system designed to provide maximum stopping power. The Active Brake Assist feature monitors traffic and can automatically apply brakes if it detects an imminent collision. It also includes cross-traffic detection, making it highly effective in preventing side-impact crashes at intersections. The system even responds to pedestrians, stopping the vehicle if someone suddenly steps into the road.

3. Honda Accord

The Honda Accord has long been praised for its reliability, but its safety features deserve just as much recognition. The Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) uses sensors to detect obstacles ahead and automatically applies the brakes if necessary. This feature is particularly beneficial in preventing rear-end collisions, as it reduces the risk of human error in reaction times. Honda’s system also provides visual and audible warnings before engaging the brakes, giving drivers a chance to react.

4. Toyota RAV4

Toyota has always been at the forefront of vehicle safety, and the RAV4’s brake assist system is a testament to that commitment. The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection helps drivers avoid accidents by providing automatic braking when a collision is imminent. This feature is particularly useful in urban environments where pedestrians and cyclists are frequently encountered. The system uses radar and cameras to assess the distance between the vehicle and potential obstacles, adjusting braking force accordingly. Toyota’s advanced safety suite also includes lane departure alerts and adaptive cruise control, making the RAV4 one of the safest SUVs in its class.

5. Ford F-150

I normally wouldn’t suggest an F-Series truck, but it does excel in safety with its advanced brake assist system. The Ford Co-Pilot360 package includes Automatic Emergency Braking, which detects potential collisions and engages the brakes if the driver doesn’t react in time. This feature is especially useful when towing, as it helps prevent accidents caused by delayed stopping times. The system works in conjunction with forward collision warning, giving drivers an added layer of protection.

Prioritize Safety with Advanced Brake Assist

Horsepower and design are important (trust me, I’m a car lover myself). However, safety shouldn’t be overlooked. You need to pick a vehicle that will keep you and your passengers safe. Advanced brake assist features can decrease your risk of having an accident while you’re out and about. It will also improve your overall driving experience by providing you with some peace of mind on the road. So, if you’re in the market for a new car, consider one of these five models and research all of the safety features in any other vehicle you’re looking at. You’ll love how safe you feel!
