DL: Actually, this was a pretty easy job. Like I said, I'm sure it could have been done better, but all I did was pull of old duct tape, put on some flex-tubing and duct-tape the heck out of it.

And putting in insulation is one of the easiest things. You cut it and stuff it in the space (wearing rubber-lined gloves). Go ahead, try it out!

I am so impressed you can do this. We are soooo un-handy it's sad. The most we can do is change our air filters. It's that bad. I can only look upon your photos with envy, wishing we had more talent. Instead, we have to hire people to do it right for us. If we did it ourselves, we'd mess up and it would cost more.

Jerry: I had a camel cricket crawling across the floor last night. Those things are freakish and are much harder to kill than regular crickets. Oh, and they much squishier too.

UGH!

We had a water line to our refrigerator leak over the summer, so I had to crawl under the house to remove a few rows of soaking wet insulation. Needless to say, I put off installing new insulation in it's place for as long as possible. Well, with the cold weather finally here (and constant reminders from my Dear Wife) I got up the energy to do it.

Crawling under our house is awful! I hate camel-back crickets...

While I was under there, I also inspected our duct work and figure that I may need to make a few more trips to install some new ducts that are poorly insulated.

Keep up the good work! Great blog.
