Good post. When you think about it the amount of freedom in terms of choices you have when you are debt free is incredible. no longer do you have to work to pay your debt but could realistically work on something you love. In my opinion ut is the debt factor that keeps a lot of people in jobs that they hate.

Great post. From a real estate perspective, it is interesting that a number of people in foreclosure are just walking away from their "debts". When the math is too difficult, you have no options left but to run. So this begs the question, is a debt only a legal obligation or something we should be held to morally.

I love it! You've inspired me to write a post (linking to ya, of course) on this topic.

Once the debt is gone, it's like getting a huge, tax-free pay raise! Gotta love that.

VV Good. This is called the "burn" rates, and the question is how do you reduce the debt service component?

My "burn" rate is $36,500 a year, cash, or $56k/year...non cash.

Great post and another great example of why it is so important to reduce the amount of debt you carry.
