Do they do prefab custom homes? I have been trying to build a house for 2 years. The bank will only give me $200k to build a 2000 square ft home. so I might have to sell the property. I had plans drawn up, building permit, planning zoning work all done.

Thanks,

Steve

Having grown up in Ohio's Amish area. This doesn't surprise me at all. It gets around their biggest problem -- personal travel -- while allowing them to charge the "premium" of being Amish built.

As to power tools, most Amish use a generator to run air-powered tools. Just don't tell the Bishop.
