Do they do prefab custom homes? I have been trying to build a house for 2 years. The bank will only give me $200k to build a 2000 square ft home. so I might have to sell the property. I had plans drawn up, building permit, planning zoning work all done.

Having grown up in Ohio’s Amish area. This doesn’t surprise me at all. It gets around their biggest problem — personal travel — while allowing them to charge the “premium” of being Amish built.

As to power tools, most Amish use a generator to run air-powered tools. Just don’t tell the Bishop.
