A billion dollar dinner
I was browsing Ebaumsworld this morning and someone posted a gallery showing the increase in Zimbabwean dollars. Before you click through, I must warn you that the comments and ads at Ebaumsworld can be rather distasteful. I’ve tuned them out since I’m a daily visitor, but if you haven’t been there before, be warned it may not be safe for work.
I wanted to show a few of the images here. For instance, imagine you got the following restaurant bill:

Or your wallet won’t quite fit enough cash to pay your restaurant bill anymore:

My friends, that’s called extreme inflation. I have to wonder how their computers can keep up with such huge numbers. Remember when gas station pumps here couldn’t roll over to $4.00 per gallon? What if gas cost $400,000,000,000 per gallon?

Scary stuff! This is why I think it’s essential to keep a portion of our investments in bullion. Who says that can’t happen here?
who says that bullion will be the medium for trade? that’s the problem with keeping bullion for end of the world scenario, and the problem that it isn’t an investment if it is being held for that reason.
notice those Zimbabwean notes are only good for 6 months.
